Wasteland Amsterdam: tickets, travel and first visit
Wasteland Amsterdam is not a regular club night in the city centre. It is a large fetish-fantasy production in Zaandam with a strict outfit door, several dance floors and its own overnight shuttle. Sort out your ticket, look and journey home in advance so the night itself has room to unfold.
Start with the ticket, but keep it official
Wasteland sells tickets through Weeztix and, when availability remains, at the door. Its official ticket page names TicketSwap as the safe resale route for sold-out editions or when you need to pass on your ticket.
A ticket does not override the dress code. Wasteland explicitly states that rejection over an outfit does not lead to a refund. Check the page for your specific edition before buying rather than relying on photographs from earlier years.
The venue is in Zaandam
The regular Amsterdam edition takes place at North Sea Venue, Hemkade 48 in Zaandam. The organizer describes it as roughly 20 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal. Still check the current location on the day because Wasteland uses different venues for different formats.
Trains and buses run from Amsterdam Centraal. Wasteland also describes an overnight shuttle between Centraal and the venue, with pickup on the IJzijde opposite De Ruijterkade 151. Verify times and the shuttle ticket on the official page shortly before the event.
Changing, lockers and the return journey
The official FAQ confirms lockers and a place to change, but no private changing rooms. Arrive prepared to change comfortably in a shared area. Bring a small bag and a practical layer for travelling to and from the venue.
Save your ticket, address and shuttle information offline. If you do not plan to take the shuttle back, check night transport or your taxi budget in advance. Zaandam is not where you want to work out your journey home for the first time at 6 am.
Going solo
Wasteland explicitly welcomes solo guests who follow the dress code and rules. Its scale can still feel overwhelming. After entry, locate the cloakroom, hosts, first aid, chill area, dance floors and dungeon areas before letting the night carry you.
You do not need to achieve a particular experience. Dancing, watching performances and learning the space makes a complete night. Consent remains the baseline: ask before touching, accept a no immediately and give active scenes room.
Photography ban and official cameras
Private photos and videos are prohibited. Wasteland says official photographers and film crews can be identified by a badge. If you do not want to be recorded, ask the team on site how to signal this and who to approach.
The privacy rule continues socially: do not share identifying details, names or observations about other guests afterwards. The freedom of the night depends on it not being carried outside without consent.
